Nutritional Information

When cooking I always utilize the very best ingredients I can to ensure I and my family get the most nutrition from our food that we can.

This means that whenever possible I use:

-Organically and locally grown fruits and vegetables.
(I have 2 large vegetable gardens and grow and preserve as much as I can.)
The closer you are to the source of your food, the fewer hands it has to pass through and the less time it will sit in storage, so the better, and likely safer, it will be for you and your family.

-Seasonal eating benefits our bodies nutritionally.

-Meats that are organic or sustainable pasture-grass fed raised and feed with no           antibiotics, growth hormones, or grains.  Utilizing organ meats whenever possible.

-Raw Dairy from organic grass fed cows that are not given antibiotics or growth hormones.

-We drink raw milk, which is nutritionally superior to homogenized, pasteurized milk.

-Healthy fats, such as tallow, grass fed butter and ghee, coconut oil, lard, and some seed oils that are properly extracted and bottled.

-Properly prepared nuts and beans to remove the enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid that blocks absorption of calcium, magnesium, and other minerals.
